Covenant House is on the front lines of the pandemic, serving as the last line of defense for our community’s most vulnerable young people.

We are now caring for over 220 youth and children – the most in our history. As of July 30th, we have instituted new temporary policies to better protect our residents & staff and safeguard our campus from the re-emerging threat of the coronavirus in our community.

The Crisis of Runaway & Homeless Youth

Covenant House opens its heart and its doors each year to more than 900 youth & children with nowhere else to turn.
Sadly, the vast majority have experienced years of abuse, violence, and trauma.

With God’s grace, our team of professionals and volunteers help them to heal – and begin new hope-filled journeys.

Cornerstones

Open Intake

We are open 24/7, 365 days per year.
No one is turned away.

There’s always room for one more.

Unconditional Love

We love each of our kids
like our own.

If not us, who? If not now, when?

Absolute Respect

Every single one is good, and
beautiful, and brave.

We are so proud of them.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me…

Matthew 25:35-36

Youth Profile Update: Jakiya’s Gift

One of the under-recognized perceptions—and truths—about the young people we serve is the incredible number of innate gifts they possess. This spans across a wide spectrum of both potential and already-on-display talents.

Youth Profile: Elijah

"Painting is a relief for me," he says. "It helps me find a better place to rest my mind. Instead of keeping all the negative energy in me, I put it all on canvas."

Meet Our Youth

Every one of our residents has a story.

Every one of them is a child of God.

Though they often come to us with painful pasts, they are all united by their desire to heal, to learn, and to grow.

Our talented and caring staff works with them to unlock their unique potential. We are inspired by them – and all that they have overcome.

See how some of our courageous young people are flourishing.

How Can You Help?

In the past 8 years, the number of the young people in our care has grown from 45 to 164 per night. Most have endured unimaginable abuse, violence, and trauma. You can help give them a chance.
