Outreach Services

Program Overview

Our outreach team develops relationships with youth facing homelessness and trafficking, offering them assistance with basic necessities and inviting them to stay at Covenant House.

Our team focuses on youth 22 & under, including former residents who are in need of extended support.

As part of our outreach efforts, we operate a 24/7 hotline (504-584-1111) for any youth in need.

What They Provide

  • Sandwiches, snacks, and water
  • Hygiene supplies
  • Access to a shower and a fresh set of clothes
  • Counseling
  • Bus tokens to jobs and other community services
  • An “open door” at Covenant House 24/7

Trafficking Outreach

Our outreach team is an integral part of our fight against human trafficking. They work closely with our trafficking team to monitor well known “tracks” and identify youth experiencing trafficking.

We are law enforcement’s #1 emergency crisis center for survivors of human trafficking. Our outreach team also works with the National Human Trafficking Hotline (888-373-7888) to connect with and support trafficking survivors.

School & Agency Outreach

Making Connections

Our outreach team maintains relationships with dozens of social service partners and schools. They attend community meetings/forums, and also work with social workers from local high schools to help identify homeless and runaway youth.

Our teams are available to address community organizations, school assemblies, and church groups, as we continue to spread the word, and help prevent more youth from facing trauma.

Connecting Homeless Youth

Our team posts and distributes flyers in strategic areas throughout the New Orleans region to reach youth in our community.

Knowing the dangers of homelessness, our first goal is to get young people safely under our roof. We can then begin the healing process, the counseling, and the critical case management. Together with our community partners, we can provide and connect them with all of the services they need.
